DAYTON – Tennessee Wesleyan's basketball teams took a pair of losses at rival Bryan College in AAC play on Tuesday.
TWU's men fell 69-59, with their rally from a 36-18 halftime deficit coming up short. Lorenzo Gatling led the Bulldogs (3-5, 2-5 AAC) with 11 points. Wesleyan struggled from the floor on 29% shooting, including just 14% from 3-point range.
Wesleyan's women took a 79-54 loss, falling behind after the game was tied 35-35 at halftime. Bryan outscored the Lady Bulldogs (3-5, 3-4) 16-6 in the third quarter and 28-13 in the fourth. Former McMinn Central standout Jordan Wright led TWU with 15 points.
The Lady Bulldogs committed 19 turnovers, six of those on steals by Bryan freshman Kaitlynn Hennessee, a former McMinn County standout. TWU shot just 34.5% from the floor to Bryan's 50.9%.
