Emit “Jack” Trusley, 68, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at his home with his family. He was a member of Cottonport Baptist Church. He worked at Shaw for 34 years. He served as Vice President of the Caring Car Club of Decatur. He enjoyed riding his tractor, loved to watch wrestling and, most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emit Columbus Trusley and Idella Tennessee Wattenbarger Trusley; and several good friends. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Emit “Shane” Trusley (Kimberly Roberts) of Decatur; daughter, Celia Trusley of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Linda Gennoe (Shaver) of Decatur, and Brenda Walden of Decatur; grandchildren, Caitlyn Smith of Grand Rapids, Mich., Trinton Recinos of Grand Rapids, Mich., Alazae Recinos of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Michael Shane “Rocker” Trusley of Decatur; special friends, Dan Lockmiller, Ricky Bates, Charlie Thompson, and Roni Thomas; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. The family would like to say a special thank you to Kimberly Roberts for caring for Jack during his illness. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacey Gennoe, the Rev. Gene Guffey, and the Rev. Curtis Walden officiating. Burial will be in Upper Goodfield Cemetery on Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
