Wanda Elizabeth (Woods) Sherrod, 88, of Decatur, and formerly of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and she loved to read the Bible and sing hymns. She also enjoyed taking walks and was an animal lover. She was preceded in death by her parents, William David Woods and Ethel Mae (Roberts) Woods; husband, Glenn C. Sherrod; brothers, W.D. Woods Jr, and Kenneth Maynard Woods; sisters, Roxie Kincaid and Nell Smith. Survivors include son, David, and his wife, Beate Sherrod, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Margaret Nell and her husband, John Sertell, of Chattanooga; brothers, Ronald (Sammie) Woods of Chattanooga, Ray (Joyce) Woods of Decatur, and Ralph Woods of Sevierville; sister, Margaret Ayre of Falkville, Ala.; grandchildren, Isaac Sherrod of Dallas, and Ruth Andrews of Houston; and great-grandchild, Robert Andrews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday Aug. 15, at 11 a.m., at Pisgah Cemetery with Pastor Mike Couch officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
