Lauren Dawson and Joshua Powers were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.
Dawson is the daughter of Scott and Nichoel Benton Dawson of Sweetwater. Powers is the son of Ricky Powers of Niota and Annette King Powers Deakins and Michael Deakins of Athens.
The Rev. Bill Dawson officiated.
Megan Dawson of Sweetwater served as maid of honor, and Hunter Gordy of Athens served as best man.
Kinley Porter of Athens was the flower girl and Kash Medders of Englewood served as the ring bearer.
Anthony and Kyle Jackson of Riceville served as ushers.
A reception followed the service at the church.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple is back at home in Athens.
