Melanie Grace Guthrey and Brendan Adam Truett were married on Jan. 25, 2018, at the historic 300-year-old Colonial Inn in Concord, Mass., in a ceremony officiated by Terry Torres of Boston, Mass. The opening prayer for the ceremony was led by the bride's brother, Jack Guthrey, of Charlotte, N.C.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Robert Guthrey.
A 2005 graduate of McMinn County High School, the bride is a 2009 graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Mass. She is currently employed as the engineering asset planner for BOSE Corporation.
She is the daughter of Robert "Bobby" and Jerrie Guthrey of the Clearwater community near Athens.
A graduate of The Bromfield School in Harvard, Mass., the groom met the bride while they were students at Emerson College. He is a photographer and owner of Truett Image Works.
The groom is the son of William "Bill" and Ann Truett of Harvard, Mass.
The wedding ceremony was simulcast to friends and family who could not attend. A local DJ played multiple genres of hit music for the dance floor at the reception, which was held in the Heritage Room at Concord's Colonial Inn.
The couple is currently at home in Northborough, Mass.
On Saturday, March 24, Bobby and Jerrie Guthrey will host a drop-in reception from 1 to 4 p.m. at the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum in Athens for all friends and family who would like to congratulate Melanie and meet Brendan. Light finger foods, non-alcoholic drinks, and wedding cake will be offered. Friends, former classmates, and family are invited to attend through this announcement.
