NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced the application period for the 2019 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota hunts, the Cherokee Party Dog hunts, the regular and youth elk hunts, and WMA youth hunts will run from Wednesday, June 19, through Wednesday, July 24.

McMinn County High School will hold its Youth Wrestling Camp on Monday, July 15, and Tuesday, July 16, in the MCHS gymnasium. The camp is for boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade.

There will be a mandatory parent meeting for McMinn County High School football 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the MCHS auditorium. All parents must sign off on the meeting for their child to be eligible to play in 2019-2020. The meeting will be held by McMinn Athletic Director Joe Young.

The Athens Parks and Recreation Department has announced registration is now open for Friendly City Adult Co-Ed Softball. Registration will be available online for team registration or for free agents. Games will take place at Athens Regional Park on Tuesday evenings from June 11-July 30.
