Tami L. Wright, 53, of Athens, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Parkwest Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Goins Wright and was preceded in death by her brothers, Ricky Wright and Rocky Wright; stepmother, Betty Wright; brother-in-law, Russell Tallent; and nephew, Ryne Thornburg. She was a former employee of E&E Manufacturing. Tami enjoyed playing sports, including basketball, and was coached by her father for many years playing softball. Tami also loved spending time with her family and, most importantly, her grandchildren. She attended God’s Storehouse of Blessings. Survivors include her father, Loys Wright of Riceville; her boyfriend, Drew Williams of Athens; daughters, Tiffany Barnes of Athens, and Jade Williams of Etowah; sons, Randy Evans and Jeremy Williams, both of Athens; grandchildren, Hannah Marie Evans, Marcie Grace Evans, Christian Cooper, Ritchie Cooper, Zoey Cooper, Rylan Killebrew, and McKenna Killebrew; sisters and brother-in-law, Vicki and Mike Thornburg of Riceville, and Sharon Tallent of Tellico Plains; a brother, Brandon Wright of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Leamon, the Rev. Chasen Curtis, and the Rev. Ashley Mew officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Estanallee Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
