Alice Milton Wolfenden, 81, of Athens, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 6, 2019, at Life Care Center of Athens. Alice was a lifelong resident of McMinn County, and was a daughter of the late Hoyt B. and Bertha Bradford Milton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert “Bob” Wolfenden, and a brother, John B. Milton Sr. Alice was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Athens. She was a graduate of McMinn County High School Class of 1955. In the late-1950s, she was a flight attendant with Capital Airlines. She was office manager of Dr. Wolfenden’s Dental Office until her retirement. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Alison Garrett of St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandsons, Will and Rhett Garrett and Trey Mahoney; a sister, Dolores Willoughby of Athens; a sister-in-law, Joyce Milton of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. William “Skip” White officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 E. College St., Athens, TN 37303; or Alzheimer’s Association, NE/SE TN Chapter, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Suite 22, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
