Bonnie “Mamaw”

Packett, 91, of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved painting and crafts and she was a loving mother and mamaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Packett; son, Freddie Packett; grandson, Eric Holloway; great-grandson, Josh Smith; parents; several sisters and brothers; and son-in-law, Don Coffey. She is survived by daughter, Karen Coffey of Knoxville; son, Jerry Gable of Decatur; daughter and son-in law, Toni and Johnny Smith; and son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Pam Packett, all of Sweetwater; stepson and daughter-in-law, James and Maggie Packett of Athens; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Lucy McCarroll of Talbot, and Bob McCarroll of Knoxville. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Sweetwater Memory Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Chaplain Jeff Sledge officiating. Interment will be Thursday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m., in Sweetwater Memorial Park. Sweetwater Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
