Steve Cole, 73, of Knoxville, and formerly of Etowah, departed this life on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Born in Etowah on Aug. 16, 1945, to the late Amos Lee and Essie Sarah Cardin Cole, he had lived in Knoxville the past 15 years and was a Vietnam veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. He loved yard saling, going to gun shows, fishing, traveling, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Cole and Willie Cole; and sisters, Cynthia Sipper and JoAnn Johnson. Steve is survived by his son, Chris Cole of Etowah; grandchildren, Ryland Cole, Bayley Cole and Madison Cole, all of Etowah; and siblings, Leslie (Noreen) Cole, Pauline Barncard, and Jean (Kenneth) Brown, all of Etowah; and everal nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends also survive. A Celebration of Life and Home Going for Steven Spencer Cole was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment followed in Shady Grove Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family received friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, July 7, at the funeral home.
