John Wayne King, 60, of Decatur, and formerly of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at his home. He was born in Athens on March 10, 1959, a son of the late Rob and Addie King. Wayne was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Peyton King. Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Debra Cranfill King; one son, Justin King; one daughter, Jessica King, and her companion, Matthew; two sisters, Faye Hicks and Kim King; two brothers, Robbie King and Tim King (Norma); special friend, Jerry McHone; and numerous other extended family members and a host of friends. A graveside service is planned for Friday, July 12, at 12:30 p.m., at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Decatur, with the Rev. Van Elkins officiating.
