Geneva Marie Tallent, 90, of Etowah, passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and a daughter of the late Herbert “Hub” Houston and Marie Lacey Stephens. She was a member of Brookhill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rankin Tallent; sisters, Lorene Moses, Mildred Hayes, and Iona Wilson; four brothers, Frank, Clyde, Clay and Creed Stephens; sons-in-law, Ronnie Cline and James Anderson; and nieces and nephews. Survivors include her children, Marie Anderson, Linda (Jerry) Williams, and Daniel (Samantha) Tallent; sister, Joyce (D.D.) Ervin; grandchildren, Houston (Lisa) Anderson, Michael Anderson, Brad (Sandy) Anderson, Angie (James) Burris, Dana (Dodd) Williams, Lacy (Evan) Chastain, Kacy (Caleb) Lawson, and Sammy Tallent; great-grandchildren, Josh (Jesse) Anderson, Kiersten Anderson, Jake Anderson, Jason Anderson, Morgan Anderson, Alex Anderson, Hannah (Dan) Quintero, Brooke Burris, Nick (Riley) Williams, Cassie Williams and Cole Lawson; great-great-grandson, Peyton Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cardin and the Rev. Martin Bowlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at Cedar Grove Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 17, for the 10 a.m. committal service. Houston Anderson, Michael Anderson, Brad Anderson, Sammy Tallent, Josh Anderson, Jason Anderson, Jake Anderson, Nick Williams, Evan Chastain, and Caleb Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
