William Scott “Bill” Key, 73, a lifetime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at his home. Bill was born in Chattanooga on Oct. 31, 1946, a son of the late Ted and Ann Key. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Meadowfork Church of Calhoun. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a former member of Masonic Lodge #188. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Butch Key. Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Diana Key; one daughter, Michelle Key; one son, Billy Key; one brother, Teddy Key; four granchildren, Dalton and Kyla Key, Hilary Key (Daniel), Nathan and Amanda Key and Xander Key; five great-grandchildren, Daniel Key, Aubree Key, Lillie Key, Ben Key and Jared Erwin Key; special friends, Jimmy and Lynn Dean; numerous other extended family member and a host of friends. A celebration of life is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at Meadowfork Church, located at 153 County Road 753 in Calhoun, with the Rev. Ray Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
