Charles O. “Charley”

Kennedy Jr., 80, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the family home. Charley was a member of Hopewell Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Shriner with Kerbela Temple, a 32nd Degree Mason with Prudentia Lodge #719, and a Maryville Alcoa Jaycees. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, as well as the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kaye Patton Kennedy; parents, Charles O. “Bull” Kennedy Sr. and Minnie V. Byrum Kennedy; brothers, Harry “HB” Kennedy and Johnny P. Kennedy; and sister, Billie Jayne Kennedy Wine. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Kennedy and Deann Joines; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Kennedy Riden (Rick); grandchildren, Alec T. Riden, and Kelli Joines; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Cincinnati Burn Shrine Hospital, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Hopewell Springs Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1607 Povo Road in Madisonville. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6, at Victory Baptist Church, located at 1025 Montvale Road in Maryville. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Steve Craft officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service of Maryville is in charge of arrangements.
