Alfred Richard Hampton, 63, of Madisonville, passed away on Oct. 5, 2019, at a Knoxville hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen Hampton of Madisonville; one daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Chris Jack of Tellico Plains; two sisters, Dianne Lankford and her husband, Jimmy, of Decatur, and Carolyn Wood of Athens; three brothers, Houston Hampton of North Carolina, David Hampton and his wife, Sheila, of Athens, and William Hampton of Decatur; and four grandchildren, Jayden Jack, Dominick Jack, Mae Crowder and Richy Santos. A funeral service is planned for Friday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral service.
