Dorothy Beck, 66, of Englewood, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.
A native of Monroe County and a resident of Englewood for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Luke and Zelma Harris. She was a dairy farmer of 18 years and a florist for 27 years, and was of Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Harris; and six sisters, Madeline Carter, Eveline Harris, Hattie Ruth Harrill, Billy Joe Harris, JoAnn McAfee and Otsie Roberta Carroll.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Jason Cordell of Sweetwater, and Debbie and Tim Lennex of Athens; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Ashley Beck and Dustin and Kim Beck, all of Englewood; and grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Moore, Kaley and Clay Beck and Shelby and Luke Beck.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 2 p.m. committal service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
