Debra L. \"Debby\" Holt, 54, of Etowah, passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 14, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1957, in Danville, Ill. She moved to Etowah from Florida and lived here most of her life. Debby was an electrician and she loved to travel, ride horses, and spend time with her family, especially with her nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc Holt and Joann Mitchell Holt-Snyder; maternal grandparents, Stanley \"Duck\" and Anne Marie Black Mitchell; and her paternal grandparents, Lilburn and Lily Holt.
She is survived by her life partner, Wendell Smith; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Kim Holt and Patty Taylor and husband, Johnny; a special nephew, Blake Snyder, and family; and a special niece, Joni Marie Martin, and family, all of Etowah. Many extended family members and close friends also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains with the Rev. Jeff Blanchette officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
