Clyde Edward \"Pooky\" Humphrey, 43, of Athens, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Knoxville and resident of Athens for the past 12 years, he was a son of the late Shirley Ann Sauls Humphrey, and was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Bonnie \"Granny\" Irwin.
He was of the Baptist faith and was an employee of Coca-Cola.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Gallaher Humphrey of Athens; father, Clyde Arnold Humphrey of Strawberry Plains; one son, Derrick R. Humphrey of Athens; one daughter, Audreya R. Brown of Athens; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Karen Humphrey of Halls, and David and Stacy Humphrey of Strawberry Plains; one sister, Donna A. Dodson of Knoxville; three nephews, Luke Humphrey, Ty Humphrey and Bobby Dodson; two nieces, Amber Dodson and Savanna Dodson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Bessie Myers of Kingston; brothers-in-law and spouses, James and Debra Dyer, and Bo and Evelyn Gallaher; sisters-in-law and spouses, Nanette and Ty Billingsley, Lytonsha Gallaher and April Gallaher; two nephews, Avery Gallaher and Malik Gallaher; six nieces, Latoya Gallaher, Teanna Morris, Desiree Dyer, Ebony Gallaher, Rolanda Hill and Asia Gallaher; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Minister Ty Billingsley officiating.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Hammonds Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Humphrey, Michael Humphrey, James Dyer, Avery Gallaher, Chris Stokes and Jim Collins.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
