Leonard Disspain, 90, of Etowah, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Etowah Health Care Center.
He was employed with the railroad for 13 years and worked the rest of his life as a carpenter. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and his church.
He was a son of the late Leora and Pearl Disspain, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Disspain; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Disspain; one grandson, Travis Disspain; and two brothers, Lem and Emory Disspain.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Boyd Evans of Etowah; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Disspain, Scott and Sandy Disspain, and Jarrell and Sandy Disspain, all of Etowah; four grandsons, Todd, Russ, and Blake Disspain, and Jason Dillard; one granddaughter, Jamie Bradford; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Bradford.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Donald B. Harris and Pastor Whiting S. Delk officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 3 p.m. graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Russ Disspain, Blake Disspain, Jason Dillard, Sean Bradford, Steve Rayburn and Hubert Prichard.
