Lou Bouffler, 73, of Decatur, died Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013, at a Chattanooga hospital.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1939 in Detroit, Mich., and was a son of the late Julian and Florence Bouffler. He and his wife made Decatur their home for the past six years, having relocated from Davenport, Fla.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, he worked for many years as a police officer and later, as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Bethsadia Baptist Church in Decatur. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Bolick and Mary Miller.
He leaves here to cherish his memory his loving wife of 21 years, Jo Anne Wood Bouffler; two sons, Randy Bouffler and his wife, Laura, and Alan Bouffler and his wife, Sheri; one sister, Linda Fix and her husband, Harold, of Clinton Township, Mich.; one brother, Edward Bouffler and his wife, Marlene, of Cleveland; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Raye Causey of Kingwood, Texas; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
There will be no public service or visitation at this time per Mr. Bouffler\'s request.
