Perry Robert Pollard, 67, of Athens, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, March 7, 2013.
He was a member of Brainerd Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. He was an avid athlete at Brainerd High School; was Mr. Brainerd High; and was honored with the FCA award, graduating in 1964. He went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee and then Auburn University for graduate school.
He worked for many years at Moccasin Bend Pine Breeze as an instructor and youth counselor. He later resided in Cleveland to care for his mother until her death.
He was known for his big heart and his ability to make others laugh and smile. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Neal and Maxine Pollard.
Survivors include two sisters, Cherie Kretzer and Pam Windows; two nieces, Ashley Wallace and Rachel Logback; two nephews, Adam Kretzer and Mike Wallace; many special cousins and friends; and his beloved Life Care family.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Life Care Center of Athens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Center of Athens in memoriam of Perry Pollard or to the American Heart Association.
