Grant Davis, 90, of Riceville, died Saturday night, March 9, 2013, at Life Care Center of Athens.
A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Robert Bynum and Emma Elizabeth Williams Davis, and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
He was a well-known dairy farmer until his retirement, and then was a beef farmer. He was a graduate of McMinn County High School, where he played football. He was instrumental in starting the McMinn County Farmer\'s Co-Op, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include four nephews, Van Allen Brazzell, Dale Landon Brazzell and Tony Brazzell and his wife, Amanda, all of Riceville, and Phillip David Brazzell and his wife, Gloria, of Etowah; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at South Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery with Brother Tim Davis officiating.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Services.
