Myrtle Elizabeth Lingelbach Steadman, 68, of Athens, died Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2013, at her home.
A resident of Athens for more than 30 years, she was a former resident of Rockford, Ill., and a native of Littleville, Ala. A daughter of the late James Louis and Viola King Lingelbach, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe Lingelbach; one great-granddaughter, Tinnie Johnson; two sisters, Katy Pounds and Pat Huston and her husband, Les; and one brother, Louis Burley Lingelbach.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Allen Steadman of Athens; two grandchildren, Corey Steadman and his wife, Kassandra, of Delano, and Felicia Johnson and her husband, Drew, of Athens; one great-grandson, Jeffery Johnson; one soon-to-be great-grandson, Jackson Steadman; two sisters, Mary Mills and her husband, Tommy, of Cordova, Ala., and Geneva Sawyer of Etowah; two brothers, Glen Lingelbach and his wife, Barb, of Jasper, Ala., and Eurley Lingelbach and his wife, Jackie, of Machesney Park, Ill.; and one brother-in-law, Billy Pounds of Cordova, Ala.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Clifford Waters officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Corey Steadman, Richy Houston, Steve Hickman, Steven Bunch, Rick Lingelbach, Tom Joyner and Larry Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
