Alvin A. Moses, 68, of Tellico Plains, passed away on Friday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2013, at Sweetwater Hospital.



Retired from Bain & Holden after 35 years, he was preceded in death by his father, James A. Moses; daughter, Connie Moses Bowers; and grandmother, Martha Duckett. He was of the Baptist faith.



Survivors include his children and their spouses, Clayton and Kathy Moses of Crandall, Ga., David and Denise Moses of Athens, Wayne and Pam Moses of Etowah, Ronda and Eddie O\'Daniel of Decatur, Christy and J.C. Hatfield of Madisonville and Misty Winkler; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Emma Moses; three sisters and one brother-in-law, JoAnn Long, Carolyn and Scott Lynn and Shirley Moses, all of Tellico Plains; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Harley and Becky Moses of Englewood, Kenneth and Glenna Moses, Glen B. and Louise Moses and Jerry and Gail Moses, all of Tellico Plains; his loving and special friend and ex-wife, Mary Moses, the mother of his children; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.



Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Strickland and the Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.



The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home.



Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville was in charge of arrangements.
