Margaret \"Elizabeth\" Harris, 86, of Kingston, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at her home.
She was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church and a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in both the Morgan and Roane County school systems. She was a Past Matron of Kingston Chapter No. 405 of the Eastern Star, Past Royal Matron of Charity Court No 17, Order of the Amaranth, and a volunteer at Roane Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Strange; one brother, Dave Lillard; and her parents, Margaret and David Lillard.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Harris of Kingston; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Everett Massengill of Kingston; one daughter, Margaret Morgan of Wartburg; one sister, Mary Ford of Decatur; her grandchildren, Terri and Roy Comer of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Eric and Chrissy Massengill of Kingston, Holly and Robbie Armes and Angel Mitchell of Wartburg, and Ginger Morgan of Johnson City; her great-grandchildren, Zane and Grayson Comer, Emilee and Alexis Mitchell, Hannah and Erin Armes, Josie and Ville Massengill, and Noah Halliburton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; four stepchildren; 17 step-grandchildren and 24 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 8 p.m. Saturday at Luminary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Koontz officiating. Entombment was 2 p.m. Sunday at Kingston Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
