John Carson Daugherty, 85, of Englewood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was a lifelong resident of Englewood and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. A son of the late Ben and Ida Harris Daugherty, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Daugherty; his parents; one grandson, John Daugherty; and five brothers, Sterling, Larson, Z.W., Walter and Ora Lee Daugherty. He loved his family and friends; although Christ was the center of his life and no matter the circumstances he remained faithful to say, \"Blessed be the name of the Lord.\"

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Fred Raby of Cleveland; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Glenn and Evelyn Daugherty of Englewood, Tim and Charlene Daugherty of Athens and David Daugherty of Englewood; grandchildren, Chrystal and Greg Sheppard, Angie and Terry Chandler, Mike and Karen Raby, Aaron Daugherty, Glenn and Kourtney Daugherty, Chad Daugherty and Jennifer Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Carson and Lauren Black, Torry and Mica Sheppard, Bayleigh and Cristian Daugherty, Bryson Davis, Hunter and Tanner Raby, and Morgan and Miami Chandler; one sister, Edna Ammons of Englewood; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Minister Pat Wilson and Minister Jeff Archey officiating.

Pallbearers were Mike Raby, Aaron Daugherty, Glenn Daugherty, Hunter Raby, Greg Sheppard and Chad Daugherty. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Chandler, Carson Black, Torry Sheppard, Mica Sheppard, Lauren Black, Bayleigh Daugherty, Cristian Daugherty and Bryson Davis.

No formal visitation was held.
