Charles Duane King, 88, of Athens, died on Wednesday night, Jan. 30, 2013, at Life Care Center of Athens.
A native of Shushan, N.Y., he was a son of the late Almon and Henrietta Rowland King, and was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Charles King. He attended the Athens Christian Church and was associated with Sealy Mattress Company as a truck driver until his retirement. He had served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Russell King of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Shari King of Athens; one grandson, John Lee King Jr. of Athens; and one sister; Isabel Jackson of Concord, N.Y.
There will be no formal visitation or service at this time.
