Kenneth Eugene Carter, 56, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Sweetwater Hospital.
A native of McMinn County and lifelong resident of Decatur, he was a son of the late Boyd Eugene Carter and Billie Jean Miller Ware, and was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy D. Carter. He was a gifted artist, songwriter and musician. He was a former employee of Timber Tech and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Zoe Nicole Carter of Etowah; one son, Dylan Nicklaus Elijah Carter of Riceville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jatana and Mark Crisp of Decatur and Jane and Ricky Clark of Valley, Ala.; and several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe K. Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
