Robert D. Breedwell, 70, of Riceville, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native and resident of McMinn County for most of his life, he was a son of the late J.C. Breedwell and Dollie Mae Millsaps Breedwell. He was a former employee of Athens Stove Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby M. Boggess Breedwell of Riceville; one daughter, Diane Breedwell; one sister, Edna Pilkey of Athens; two brothers, James Breedwell of Chattanooga, and Paul Breedwell of Decatur; one granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior T. Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Short Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Shackelford, Jimmy Cheek, Brent Gouge, J.C. Boggess, Martin Pierce and Bobby Barefield.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
