Minnie O\'Daniel Henry, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.



She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She attended Fairy Valley Baptist Church in Crandall, Ga. She and her sister, Nancy Lou, were the first set of twins born in the Athens Hospital in 1938. She was raised in Decatur and graduated from Meigs County High School in 1958. She met and married Charles Henry, and, after starting their family, they moved to Crandall, Ga. She worked for many years as a cashier at Shop Rite Market. She loved to cook, shop and take care of her family. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Bessie O\'Daniel of Decatur; three brothers, Robert, R.F. and Creed O\'Daniel of Decatur; and two sisters, Nancy Lou O\'Daniel and Florence Howard of Decatur.



She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, Charles Henry; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Frank Henry of Crandall, Ga., and Rickey and Debbie Henry of Cleveland; one daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Allan Hawkins of Crandall, Ga.; grandchildren, Wesley Hawkins of Crandall, Ga., Stacy Henry of Chatsworth, Ga., Lecia Hudson of Crandall, Ga., and Amanda Johnson of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Brandi Steelmon, Blakeli Hudson, Paisley Johnson, Jacie Bain and Colt Goley; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Lockmiller of Soddy-Daisy and Bonnie and Dewain Creekmore of Charleston; one brother and sister-in-law, Reed and Phyllis O\'Daniel of Decatur; and nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Beason and the Rev. Johnny Beason officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairy Valley Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.



Peeples Funeral Home and Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of arrangements.
