Hazel Catherine Green, 87, passed away at her home on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1925, to the late Arlin and Artie Hill, and was a lifelong resident of Lamontville. Hazel was of the Baptist faith and a member at Lamontville Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and canning. In addition to these, she will be remembered as a loving grandmother and mother who loved to spend time with her family.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leonard \"Pete\" Green; eight brothers; two sisters; and one step-grandson, Barry Parker.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice Fay Parker; two brothers, Taylor Hill and Paul Hill; one sister, Grace Copeland; two grandsons, Jeffery Botts and his fiancee, Missy Coker, and children, Dustin and Mason Coker, and Casey Botts and his wife, Tonya; one great-granddaughter, Lily Kate Botts; one step-granddaughter, Tammy Parker; step-great-granddaughter, Tasha Clark; step-great-great-grandson, Kyle Landreth; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Lower Spring Creek United Methodist Church from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday with the service following at 2 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Joe Manning, Kirk Martin, Devon Martin, Daryl Byrd, Jared Gee, Tyler Richardson and Ed Martin.
The family asks that flowers be sent before the service to Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland.
