Steve Allan McKheen, faithful servant of Christ, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday night, Dec. 29, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.



A native of Greeneville and a longtime resident of Athens and of Decatur, he was a son of the late Richard McKheen and Zella Mae McDonald McKheen. His brother, James Winston McDonald also preceded him in death. He had worked as a carpenter and was a faithful member of West End Baptist Church.



Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Chrissy Stephens McKheen of Decatur; one son, Matthew Steven McKheen of Decatur; three daughters and one son-in-law, April Shaver and husband, Travis, of Decatur, Stephanie Stewart of Athens, and Hannah Stewart of Athens; five grandchildren, Ashley Hurst and husband, Cody, Hunter Shaver, Koebe Shaver, Kaleb Stewart and Lucas Wilson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Phyllis Morrison and husband, Gary, of Athens, and Darlene Moss of Athens; five brothers and one sister-in-law, Donnie Ray McKheen and Jane, of Decatur, Mike McKheen of Decatur, Wayne McKheen of Niota, Ricky McKheen and wife, Michelle, of Decatur, and Sammy McKheen of Georgia; his mother-in-law, Ruth Stephens of Niota; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug Stephens and wife, Lorie, of Athens; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman Jordan and the Rev. Jim Price officiating. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be Travis Shaver, Hunter Shaver, Doug Stephens, Wayne McKeehan, Andy Stephens and Ricky McKheen. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Shaver, Phillip Morrison and Ricky McKheen Jr.



The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ziegler Funeral Home.
