Glenn Delane Smith, 81, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

He was the son of the late Glenn G. and Mary King Smith. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and worked in construction before retiring. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ionia Howard Smith; one son, Tommy Smith of Athens; three brothers, Gary D. Smith and James Smith, both of Oak Ridge, and Don Smith of Ten Mile; three sisters, Audrey Hautala of Seattle, Wash., Patsy Johnson of Lenoir City, and Rae Parker of Clinton; three grandsons, Travis Smith, Gregg Smith and Derrick Shanahan; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Duncan officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile.

Pallbearers are Bob Leffew, Anthony Ellison, Austin Ellison, Wayne Evans, Carrie Bishop and Curtis Porter. Honorary pallbearers are Don Walden and Tyler Ray.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Ten Mile.
