Betty Shell Ingram, 85, of Lenoir City and formerly of Athens, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was retired from the Department of Human Services in 1989 where she served as Regional and County Director. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Layton Shell; and an infant brother.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Thomas F. Ingram; daughter, Debby Ingram; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and DeAnn Ingram of Lenoir City; and granddaughter, Courtney Ingram of Lenoir City.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Betty\'s caregivers, Amber Jones, Tahisha Jones, Stephanie Shell and Debbie Shell, and the staff of Lakewood Place.
A Celebration of Life was held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City. A private graveside service was held in the Lenoir City Cemetery with the Rev. Micah Nicolaus officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771.
