Tommy Carroll Buckner, 67, of Decatur, died Thursday night, Dec. 6, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late John and Tavi Yarber Buckner. He retired from Damy Industries.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Dessie Kelly Buckner of Decatur; two daughters, Devan Nicole Miller of Athens, and Tammy Buckner of Niota; three sons and one daughter-in-law, John Buckner and Tommy Anthony and Sandy Buckner, all of Athens, and James Brown and his fiancée, Jessica Davenport, both of Ocoee; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Floyd Boggess of Cleveland; and one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Helen Buckner of Riceville.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Boggess officiating. Burial followed in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were William Melton, James Brown, John Buckner, Christian Stephens, Jim Womac and Eugene Taylor.
The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
