Elizabeth \"Betty\" Ann Zanker Bartlett

Elizabeth \"Betty\" Ann Zanker Bartlett, 73, of Athens, died Thursday morning, Dec. 6, 2012, at Life Care Center of Athens.

A native of Brownville, N.Y., and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Donald A. Sr. and Geneva P. Bedor Zanker, and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Bartlett Jr.; one brother, Leonard W. Zanker; one sister, Gloria M. Thompson; one granddaughter, Lisa Ann Ballentine; one grandson, Michael Allen Bartlett Jr.; one great-grandson, Howie Hunter Ballentine; and one great-granddaughter, Angel Faith Thurman. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Geneva E. and Steven L. Watson and Connie F. and Norman R. Ballentine Jr., all of Athens, Kim M. and Jackie L. Plemons of Riceville, and Laure A. and Sammy E. Thompson of Madisonville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard D. Bartlett Jr. of Nashville, Michael A. and Melissa D. Bartlett of Cleveland, and Shannon P. and Rhonda Bartlett of Memphis, Miss.; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald A. and Norma Zanker Jr. of Athens; and one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara E. and Merritt K. Erwin of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Duane Rikard, Tommy Rikard, Norman Ballentine III, Jonathon Thompson, Jason Thompson, Jackie Lee Plemons, Phinehas Rikard and Travis Peeler.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
