Howard \"Marty\" Stinnett, 66, of Cleveland, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at NHC Health Care of Athens.
He was of the Catholic faith and served in the U.S. Air Force. He served 15 years in the Chicago Police Department and owned Budget Auto Sales for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Cleveland Noon Day Lions and the Main Street Cruisers and was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie \"Red\" Stinnett and Edna Ruth Van Nostrom Stinnett.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sandra Mahoney Stinnett; two daughters, Christine Stinnett and Caroline Stinnett, both of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Bob Stinnett of Nashville; one sister-in-law and her husband, Joyce and Richard Leamon of Riceville; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Bob and Deloris Mahoney of Athens, and Gary and Christy Mahoney of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor John Looper officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
