Gid Creed Roberts of Niota went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at his residence.

He was a Baptist and was a member of the Senior Citizens. He loved to dance and was great at it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Elizabeth Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Clark Nunley of Niota; one stepson, Mike Walden of Loudon; one daughter, Carolyn Trew of Madisonville; one stepdaughter, Pat Crisp of Decatur; one brother, Ed \"B Man\" Roberts of Ten Mile; two sisters, Susan Decker of Sweetwater, and Bonnie Raby of Ten Mile; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Waller officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Roberts Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
