J.R. Jenkins, 86, of Sweetwater, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Tellico Masonic Lodge 80 and was a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny R. Jenkins and David Alan Jenkins; his parents, the Rev. Johnny R. and Emma Headrick Jenkins; eight sisters, Agnes Stephens, Virgie Moses, Edna Miles, Bertha Craze, Ethyl Webb, Esther \"Bee\" Giles, Josephine Crowder and Geraldine Hayes; and four brothers, Ott, Ruell, Sylvan and Fred Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jo Anne Jenkins; one daughter-in-law, Diane Jenkins; one granddaughter and her husband, Christina and Erik White; one grandson and his wife, Rusty and Crystal Jenkins; great-granddaughters, Kaylee Jenkins and Sofia White; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens with military service provided by V.F.W. Post 5156 and D.A.V. 93. A Masonic service was 3 p.m. Sunday provided by Tellico Masonic Lodge 80.
The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home.
Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Madisonville was in charge of arrangements.
