Helen Marie Davis Landers, 91, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her home.
She was born and raised in Athens, where she spent her entire life. She was a daughter of the late Greely and Ora Stansberry Davis and was the widow of the late Arthur Ott Landers. She was preceded in death by one son, James Jay \"Peanut\" Landers; one grandson, Stephen Landers; one son-in-law, Charlie Frye; and two sisters, Hazel Smith and an infant, Dollie Davis.
She enjoyed walking and working in her yard with all her flowers. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and was a former employee of Athens Regional Medical Center. She was retired from Athens Stove Works.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Harold \"Pug\" and Elaine Landers of Delano, Vivian \"Jean\" Frye of Athens, and Marjorie Landers Callaway and Royce Landers of Spring, Texas; nine grandchildren, Ron Calloway and Ronda Jaloway, James L. Landers and Sandra Harley, Alan Frye, Dixie Powers and Janet Benton and Josh and Luke Landers; two sisters, Allie \"Cricket\" Goins and Lillie Davis, both of Athens; one sister-in-law, Blanche Landers of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Pete Mullins and Brother Joe Hatcher officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Josh Landers, Luke Landers, Alan Frye, Craig Benton, Matt Nichols and Anthony Jack. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Jack and Tom Jack.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
