Richard Lee Sapp of Athens died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.
He was a native Floridian, born in Eustis, Fla. He moved to Athens in April 2010 and worked for The Daily Post-Athenian during part of that time. He volunteered at the Better Living Center every Tuesday and drove the truck to the Chattanooga Food Bank for the center. He enjoyed fishing and was a kindhearted person to all.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Beth Sapp of Hortense, Ga.; one grandson, Devin Lee Yeomans of Hortense, Ga.; one son, Christopher Lee Sapp of Debary, Fla.; and one sister, Nancy Sanford of Athens.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Athens Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 230 New Englewood Road in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
