Jill Adaire McAchren, 58, of Athens, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 25. 2012, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
She was a native of Erie, Pa., was a former resident of Harbor Creek, Pa., and was a daughter of the late Durward and Opal McAchren. She was an employee of the Bradley County School System, where she taught Pre-K at Hopeville Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, where she was involved with AWANA and taught ESL at the church.
Survivors include four sisters and one brother-in-law, Pam McAchren of Athens, Kahani Skydance of Arcata, Calif., Karen and Ken Earl of Athens, and Judy Tanguay of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Sheila McAchren of Erie, Pa., and Bill and Joyce McAchren of Erie, Pa.; special friends, Vera Studer of Erie, Pa., and Nina Hudson of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Athens with Dr. Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ken Earl and Butch Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Athens, 305 Ingleside Ave., Athens, TN 37303, for a new sign at the church.
