Stella B. Atkins, 86, of Tellico Plains, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at her home.

She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and has been a Sunday school teacher in many churches during her years as a minister\'s wife. She was instrumental in starting the W.M.U. program at Liberty Baptist Church in Greenback. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Atkins; her parents, T.J. and Vallie Nichols Bradford; three sisters, Osa Hunt Marie Phillips, Pauline Maxwell and Edna Thomas; and three brothers, Ivan, Ray and Calvin Bradford.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. James Atkins; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Ron Miller, Debbie and Dennis Perrine and Angie and Rex Stone; two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Rick and Kathy Atkins and the Rev. Gerald and Vivian Atkins; grandchildren and spouses, Christy and Derek McCosh, Eric and Cindy Atkins, Brad and Tabatha Atkins, Forrest Atkins, Keren Miller, Denny and Julie Perrine, Dusty Perrine, Steven and Lacey Stone and Dakota Stone; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at New Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Rockholt and the Rev. Charles Cassidy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1088, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
