Etta Ruth Meadows, 85, of Decatur, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, 2012, at the home of her nephew, J.B. Meadows Jr.
A native and lifelong resident of Meigs County, she was of the Baptist faith. She was a daughter of the late Juniper and Virginia Alford Meadows, and was preceded in death by five brothers, Willie, Bryant, Carl, Juniper B. Sr. and Jubal G. Meadows; and three sisters, Ethel Dennison, Gertrude Bidwell and Ruby McHone.
Survivors include one sister, Pauline Jiles of Ten Mile; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Jordan, of Pisgah Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Pisgah Cemetery in Decatur.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
