Anna Louise Haney, 89, of Delano, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
Born May 24, 1923, in Birchwood, she was a daughter of the late William Horace and Mary Hayes Haney. She was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church and a former member of Chestuee Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School class and sang in the choir. She was the librarian at Benton Public Library for many years. She graduated from Etowah High School in 1941 and loved doing arts, crafts, crocheting and quilting. She was a past president of the Benton Garden Club and loved being a leader in 4-H clubs and home demonstration clubs.
Survivors include one sister, Lora Mae Haney Creasman; two nephews and their spouses, Raymond Lee Jr. and Amy Creasman of Florida, and Boyd Haney and Alice Creasman of West Virginia; two great-nephews, Zachary and Evan Creasman; two great-nieces and one spouse, Maggie Mae Creasman and Cathy and Vincent Lucarelli; one great-great-niece, Mazie Lucarelli; and one great-great-nephew, Eli Lucarelli.
Special thanks to Dr. Timothy Collins and all employees of McMinn Memorial Nursing Home who waited on Louise Haney with such love and care.
There will be no formal visitation.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Goodsprings Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Anna requested donations be made to the McMinn Memorial Nursing Home Recreation Fund, 886 Hwy. 411 N., Etowah, TN 37331, c/o Kim Rucker.
Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
