Rose Marie Johnson Morgan, 77, of Athens, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland.
A native of Pikeville and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Coleman and Carrie Lee Scoggins Johnson, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lake Thomas Morgan. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Morgan of Athens; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Gina Morgan of Kathleen, Ga., Bob and Kathleen Morgan of Birchwood, and Jay and Beth Morgan of Riceville; grandchildren, Thomas and Sheryl Morgan, Carrie and Samuel Morgan, Amanda and Heath Tiegs and Joshua Morgan; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Queen; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret and E.C. Barker of Decatur, and Nora Ann Sneed of Athens; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Upper Spring Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Sneed officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial Dept., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
