Donald \"Donnie Mac\" MacElman, 68, of Englewood, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Bath, Maine, and a resident of McMinn County since 1965, he was a son of the late Katherine MacElman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was retired from Plastic Industries after 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Diane Quarles MacElman of Englewood; two daughters, Mary Ruth Schultz and her husband, Charles, of Etowah, and Teresa Carter and her husband, Ron Goca, of Athens; one son, Bobby MacElman of Athens; three grandchildren, Jessica McFarland, Stephanie Carter and Russell Carter and his wife, Taylor; and five great-grandchildren, Korey McFarland, Kai McFarland, Zoey Eaves, Asher Goca and Aleah Carter.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Joe Black officiating with military honors.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Ziegler Funeral Home.
