Bobbie Jean Dillard Lee, 77, of Madisonville, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was retired from McMinn Central High School after 13 years as a cafeteria cook and was a member of Chestua Baptist Church, where she served as janitor for 39 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. and Armell Belcher Dillard.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, R.J. Lee; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Steven Settle of Chattanooga; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Lee of Riceville; grandchildren, Jessica Lee of Athens, Karlie Cook of Knoxville, and Rachel and David Settle of Chattanooga; one great-granddaughter, Brettany Lee of Athens; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Jerry Axley of Athens, and Bena and Charles Casteel of Madisonville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clinton and Micky Dillard of Cartersville, Ga., and H.L. and Jane Dillard of Marietta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. John Smith and the Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Chestua Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Nevil Smith officiating.
Bobbie was a fighter. Let\'s continue to fight to find a cure for cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
