Larry Allen Gable, 62, of Niota, died Monday morning, Oct. 8, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.

A native of Sweetwater and a longtime resident of Niota, he was a son of the late Kenneth Gable and was preceded in death by two aunts, Nellie Stockton and Ruby; six uncles, Johnny Thomas, Billy Thomas, Jimmy Thomas and Ernest, D.L. and Alvie Gable; a special cousin, Johnny Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Dora Goodman Frisbie; and his paternal grandparents, Mart and Bertie Gable. He was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Vestal\'s for more than 32 years.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Thomas Gable of Niota; one daughter, Leesa Gable Corum of Niota; one grandson, Andru Gable of Niota; one son-in-law, Eddie Corum of Etowah; seven aunts, Edna Sewell and Ella Black, both of Riceville, Jean Wade of Ten Mile, Bettye Paisley and her husband, Bill, Glenda Coleman and her husband, Fred, and Helen Carroll, all of Athens, and Reba Willett of Sweetwater; four uncles, Bobby Goodman and his wife, Sue, of Athens, Lynn Gable of Niota, Ray \"Gillie\" Gable and his wife, Marilyn, of the state of Washington; and many other cousins, friends and caring neighbors.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Kincannon officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Loudon.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Corum, Tony Hester, Stacy Emerson, Bill Paisley, Bobby Goodman and Fred Coleman.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
