Larry Leon Carter, 71, of Etowah, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. and Mattie Lou Jackson Kell. He was a veteran and was known to be strongly patriotic by all who knew him. He loved his country, restoring and showing antique automobiles, woodworking, carpentry and architecture.
Survivors include his loving wife, Charlotte Carter; one brother, Jimmy Kell of Akin, S.C.; and three sisters, Dorothy Black, Diane Fountain and Margie Gamble and her husband, Glen, all of Rome, Ga.
A private memorial service will be held at the family home at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
